Today I was with one of my best friends - Clarissa - in the European Capital of Culture Maribor. We wanted to buy some new clothes (by Pull&Bear, Bershka and Stradivarius) and then to see some sights.

I've already been in Maribor twice but today I found out some special new interesting things about the city. Look here.

Heute war ich mit einer meiner besten Freundinnen - Clarissa - in der Europäischen Kulturhauptstadt Maribor. Wir wollten ein paar neue Sachen einkaufen (bei Pull&Bear, Bershka und Stradivarius) und Sehenswürdigkeiten besichtigen.

Ich bin ja schon zweimal in Maribor gewesen, aber heute habe ich ein paar neue, spezielle und interessante Dinge entdeckt. Schaut hier.  

10 things you want to know about Europa's Capital of Culture

1. Notice: All men are the same. They just have different faces so you can tell them apart. Which Marilyn Monroe said years ago is even today true for this city. Not one of the boys looks at you like a hungry lion at a gazelle - no - EVERY boy and man do that.
2. When I'm saying every, I mean every. Policemen included. (So if you want to strengthen your self-respect, come here.)
3. You must not go in a changing room with your friend. Because then...
4. Security-Women will follow you. Even in other shops (and they shout with you in a language which you don't understand).
5. Second-hand-shops don't want to sell. They have their things outside their shops and if you want to go in and pay the shoes (or whatever) the door is closed.
6. Do it like a Maribor-man! Why do you need cellphones when you can talk to strange people at the street? Especially if they are girls! So hang up and follow them, it's your chance!
7. Be careful. There might be the moment of your model carrier: There are boys on the street who want to take some pictures of you, so why don't you pose??
8. If you are here - eat frozen yogurt. "Excuse me, how much is it?", I asked. Their answer: "Nothing." AMAZING!
9. Don't sit in front of army-monuments. Or places, where you think it can be an army-monument. It might be a prison.
10. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: EVERYTHING YOU DO COULD BE ILLEGAL.

10 Dinge, die ihr über Europas Kulturhauptstadt wissen wollt.

1. Beachtet: Alle Männer sind gleich. Sie haben nur unterschiedliche Gesichter, um sie auseinander zu halten. Was Marilyn Monroe schon vor Jahren gesagt hat, gilt noch heute für diese Stadt. Nicht ein Junge sieht dich an, wie ein hungriger Löwe eine Gazelle - nein - JEDER Junge und Mann tut das.
2. Und mit jeder, meine ich jeden. Polizisten inkludiert. (Also wenn ihr euer Selbstwertgefühl stärken wollt, kommt hier her.)
3. Ihr dürft nicht mit euren Freuninnen gemeinsam in eine Umkleidekabine gehen. Denn dann...
4. Sicherheits-Frauen werden euch folgen. Sogar in andere Shops (und sie werden mit euch in einer Sprache schimpfen, die ihr nicht versteht.)
5. Second-hand-shops wollen nicht verkaufen. Sie haben ihre Dinge draußen vor dem Shop und wenn ihr hinein gehen wollt, um euer Zeug zu bezahlen, ist die Tür verschlossen.
6. Macht es wie ein Maribor-Mann! Wozu benötigt ihr noch Handys, wenn ihr mit fremden Leuten auf der Straße reden könnt? Vor allem, wenn es Mädchen sind. Also legt auf und folgt ihnen, das ist eure Chance!
7. Seid vorsichtig. Hier könnte die Gelegenheit für eure Modelkarriere warten: Hier gibt es Männer auf der Straße, die euch fotografieren wollen, also werft euch in Pose!
8. Wenn ihr hier seid - esst Frozen Yogurt. "Entschuldigen Sie, wie viel kostet das?", habe ich gefragt. Man antwortete mir: "Nichts." EINMALIG!
9. Setzt euch nicht vor Kriegerdenkmäler. Oder an Orte, wo ihr denkt, es seinen Kriegerdenkmäler. Es könnte nämlich ein Gefängnis sein.
10. UND DAS WICHTIGSTE: ALLES, WAS DU TUST, KÖNNTE UNERLAUBT SEIN.

As you can see - Maribor is not the most beautiful town in the world...
Wie ihr sehen könnt, ist Maribor nicht die allerschönste Stadt auf der Welt....

But she has beautiful inhabitants.
Dafür hat sie schöne EInwohner.

It's the oldest, noble grapevine in the world.
