Free Lensing

I experimented a bit with free lensing the last weeks. Free lensing is a way of taking photos, where you take off your lens and hold in in front of your camera instead.

 

It needs a lot of practice (yes, I'm also a beginner) but the photos can look really awesome! You have to try it - patience is worth it!

 

How do the free-lensing-photos look like?

Most of the time they are a bit blurred at some places because you can only focus a picture detail. So there is only a little well-focused part.

What is more, sunlight can make light reflections on your pictures, which gives the photos a vintage touch.

 

What should I consider if I want to take free-lensing-photos?

Be sure that there is a lot of natural light. Otherwise free-lensing-photos can get very dark.

Also, if you have a Nikon-camera, ensure that you take your pictures with the "Manual"-modulation (I hope "modulation" means the right thing...), otherwise the camera won't take any photos.

Ich hab diese Woche ein wenig mit Free Lensing experimentiert. Free Lensing ist die Art Fotos zu machen, indem man das Objektiv von der Kamera abnimmt und stattdessen einfach vor die Kamera hält.

 

Es braucht wirklich viel Übung, bis etwas Produktives herausschaut (und ja, ich bin ebenfalls ein Anfänger), aber die Fotos können wirklich ziemlich schön aussehen!

Ihr müsst es unbedingt ausprobieren - die Mühe lohnt sich!

 

Wie sehen Free-Lensing-Fotos aus?

Meistens sind sie an einigen Stellen etwas verschwommen, nur ein kleiner Bereich ist wirklich fokussiert.

Außerdem kann das Sonnenlicht wunderbare Lichtreflexionen auf den Bildern hinterlassen, was die Fotos ein wenig vinatgemäßig aussehen lässt.

 

Was sollte ich beachten, wenn ich Free-Lensing-Fotos machen möchte?

Auf jeden Fall sicherstellen, dass viel natürliches Licht vorhanden ist. Ansonsten könnten die Fotos sehr, sehr dunkel werden (und man sieht gar nichts mehr).

Wenn ihr außerdem eine Nikon-Kamera habt (ich weiß nicht genau, wie das bei anderen ist), wählt auf jeden Fall die manuelle Einstellung, da die Kamera sonst gar nicht auslöst.
